MY STORY: OPPORTUNITY DISGUISED AND THE DUAPA FACTORNovember 25, 2019
A Report By Timothy Karikari
On Behalf of the preparatory Committee of the first China-Africa Human Capital Development Forum and African Youth Employment Fair 2019, DUAPA is glad to announce this special event which explores the engagement of China in the human capital development in Africa. This summit comes off on December 4th - 5th 2019 at the International Conference Hall, Guangzhou Easeland Hotel and will welcome high level officials, top companies and African students from various Universities in Guangdong Province.
The first day will be the Guangdong Promotion Conference of International Marketing Opportunities on Entering Africa; a conference designed to enhance China-Africa trade with specific emphasis on Africa’s market potential. China is currently Africa’s largest trading partner and even though the relationship is projected to grow further, analysts bemoan the high level of trade imbalance between African countries and China.
Conferences such as this are therefore designed to mitigate the trade imbalance by exposing opportunities available in Africa and support business growth. Hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangdong Committee, the conference is set to attract high level participants, speakers and business executives including leaders from the Peoples Government of Guangdong Province, diplomats and academics. There will be an experience sharing session for investors and business executives to share practical insights as well as match making sessions.
The two-day summit will climax with the China Africa Human Capital Development summit and Employment Fair designed for African students and talents in China with emphasis on Guangdong Province. There are over 80,000 African students studying in China with varied skills and competencies in need of opportunities to practice what they are taught in schools and shape their competencies for Africa and global development. With confirmation of participation from over 40 global and local companies, African students would benefit from on-spot recruitment and employment services at the fair on the 5th of December.
This event forms part of steps that Africa Guangdong Business Association and Duapa Africa are making to lay a solid foundation and work closely with institutions and leaders from across Africa who are playing a role in reinforcing programs that support enterprises in implementing vocational training, youth development and access to other forms of initiatives for human resource development.
This event is organized by Africa Guangdong Business Association, Foreign Affairs Office; Peoples Government of Guangdong Province, The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade; Guangdong Committee and supported by Duapa Africa.
